Colonial Sound is open to the students of Concord who would like to record either individually or with their band or ensemble. You will work in a professional level recording studio that needs you to adopt a professional mind-set when recording. Getting the most out of your time in the recording studio requires detailed planning.

The first step is to contact the studio. You should complete the Project Request Form to let us know the scope of what you want to record. After receiving your request, we will set up a time to meet with you and refine the details of your project.

To make your recording the best it can be, you need to warm up before you get to the studio. When setting up your session time you should account for the extra time needed to warm up before you record. Walking in to a studio "cold" will waste valuable recording time and likely end leaving you frustrated with the results.

For most students, recording in the studio will be a new experience. The approach that you need to take in the studio is far different from when you rehearse or play a live event. To achieve the best result you can, be willing to let the engineer and producer guide you through the session.

We look forward to seeing you in the studio. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
